SDS expertise to support £1bn A66 Transpennine upgrade scheme

SDS are working with National Highways and Kier Transportation managing the complex utility diversions for this major £1.5 billion road scheme to upgrade the A66.

As is often the case in major infrastructure schemes any delay to the utility works can have an adverse effect on the project in terms of cost and programme. Effective management and delivery of the complex diversionary works are key to unlocking the scheme and delivering to programme and budget. All the major utilities are present on the scheme and the complex interfacing, design , planning and implementation is one of the largest single utility projects that SDS have undertaken with over 20km of overall utilities to be diverted .

Consultancy Manager for SDS commented  “Its great to see the various divisions of Kier demonstrating its ability to integrate our offerings to offer the client a seamless solution”
