Future stations programme – Camden Town Station

Challenge

• Camden Town is frequently at capacity and crowding could become critical in the 2020’s
• As part of the Future Stations Programme, a second ticket hall has been instructed to be built to accommodate more people

Solution

• Complete a GPR and TOPO reconnaissance survey to PAS 128 standard to map the utilities in preparation for the second ticket hall
• Using this data a report was developed which outlined the services directly affected whilst suggesting areas for enhanced ground investigations

Results & Benefits

• Accurate map of existing utility infrastructure that allows a design for the second ticket hall to be finalised
• Major utility assets affecting the site were identified and areas that required future reconnaissance works were suggested
• The asset location search and site survey reduces the risk of striking unknown assets during construction
