Utility Design
                        Challenge
To be an integral part of the team delivering a 50% increase in capacity on a £500million award-winning upgrade project, by designing the utility diversions required to facilitate a 10m x 7m shaft in Arthur Street.
Solution
- To identity existing assets through investigatory works including a Ground Penetrating Radar survey and trial excavations
 - This was followed by the design of a model delivered in Microstation 3D for integration into the project’s BIM architecture
 - A concept design report was prepared for and approved by the host utilities

Results and Benefits
- Significant savings in utilities diversions of £3 million
 - Savings in time of 6 months
 - Minimising risks by negation of need for utility diversions through reorientation and remodelling of shaft, slewing of utilities and in-situ protection of assets
