A66 Northern Trans-Pennine Project

We are working with National Highways and Kier Transportation managing and co-ordinating the complex utility diversions for Schemes 1, 2 & 6 for this major £1.5 billion road scheme to upgrade the A66.

Schemes 1 & 2 are the M6 / A66 junction and Kemplay Bank Roundabout involving Electricity North West, United Utilities (Clean & Waste), Northern Gas Networks, Openreach, Virgin Media, Vodafone and SKY Fibre, along with NRTS and street lighting networks for National Highways. A dedicated service corridor has been identified for the diversionary works, including 2no Direction Drill crossings across the new road, in order to remove the existing utility constraints to complement the road design and construction works.

Scheme 6 is c7km of new road construction from Appleby to Brough, where we are managing the diversionary works for Electricity North West, United Utilities, Openreach, Ministry of Defence private 11kV and private comms.

We are undertaking the complex interface, co-ordination, design, planning and risk management for the associated diversionary works with National Highways and key stakeholders in order to ensure the diversionary works are completed in good time and to programme.
